Images Satyriques
2021
Windows, mirrors, doors, gates, portals -- in Images Satyriques, characters, symbols, and forms assemble like the figures on a slot machine, resting their combinatorial logic on the longest of fingers, their semantic connections like the joints of a spiderweb.
Habits of representation and organisation borrowed from multiple eras are shuffled and combined, and reshuffled and recombined, coalescing like the limbs of Frankenstein’s Monster, into interfaces that maybe someone once knew how to read, or maybe someday will.
Images Satyriques contains 10 prints bound by a slide binder, so that prints can be easily detached and the publication can serve either as a book or a portfolio of prints. The publication also includes a zine with reference images and texts.
